      FAQ

      WHAT IS A GRIEF CAMP?

A grief camp is a special camp designed for people who have lost a close loved one. It provides a supportive and fun environment where campers can connect with others who understand their experience, express their feelings, and find healthy ways to cope with their grief.

      WHO CAN ATTEND CAMP?

The camp is open to kids and teens who have experienced the death of a close family member (mother, father, sibling, step-parents, step-siblings). No prior experience with camp or group therapy is required.

WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL MY CAMPER PARTICPATE IN?

Campers will engage in a mix of traditional camp activities like arts and crafts, sports, and outdoor adventures, along with special grief-related activities such as sharing circles, journaling, and creative expression workshops. These activities are designed to be both therapeutic and fun.

      HOW ARE CAMPERS SUPPORTED EMOTIONALLY?

The camp is staffed by trained counselors, therapists, and volunteers who are experienced in grief support. They provide a safe space for campers to express their emotions and offer guidance and comfort throughout the camp experience.

WILL MY CHILD HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THEIR GRIEF?

While sharing is encouraged, no camper is forced to talk about their grief if they’re not ready. The camp provides various ways for campers to express themselves, whether through art, writing, or simply spending time with others who understand.

IS THERE A COST TO ATTEND CAMP?

Thanks to generous donations and sponsorships, the camp is offered at the low cost of $50 per camper. Financial assistance is available if needed. Contact us for more information.

WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE?

The safety of our campers is our top priority. The camp follows strict health and safety guidelines, with trained staff on hand at all times. We also provide on-site medical support to handle any emergencies. All of our counselors and volunteers are required to undergo an extensive background to ensure the safety of our campers.
